Lesley Warner, LICSW earned her master’s degree from the University of Washington and is a fully licensed clinical social worker in Washington state. After graduate school, Lesley completed a fellowship through the Center of Excellence in Substance Abuse Treatment and Education at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, gaining expertise in the treatment of substance use and other co-occurring mental health disorders. She went on to work as a staff social worker at the Seattle VA and continued to focus on helping individuals with concerns related to substances and mood.
Lesley enjoys working with adults experiencing a wide range of concerns related to anxiety, depression, feelings of disconnection, relationship challenges, life transitions (e.g., retirement, marriage, divorce, new baby, loss, etc.), stress, trauma, and substance use. She aims to create a safe space where clients can be curious about themselves, their beliefs, and their behaviors in order to explore what is serving them and what may be getting in the way of living the life they want to be living. Lesley works with clients toward developing trust in their inner wisdom so they can grow in ways that reduce suffering, improve quality of life, and help them to discover and connect more fully with personal values to guide them on a path toward overall wellness.
Lesley approaches therapy with nonjudgmental curiosity, empathy, authenticity, and humor to create a genuine therapeutic connection to help empower clients toward health and growth. She believes individuals are the experts in their own lives and seeks to meet clients where they are in order to collaboratively develop individualized treatment goals and to join with them on their personal journey. Lesley draws from multiple therapeutic techniques and infuses evidence-based treatments throughout her work, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), and mindfulness-based approaches. She also provides Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Lesley implements these interventions flexibly to meet the specific needs of each client.
