Amber Peterson is a post-doctoral fellow who treats individuals across the lifespan. Amber's extensive educational background, clinical experience, research contributions, and commitment to professional development, teaching, and community service make her an astute clinician. She has years of experience in assessing and treating individuals suspected of having neurodevelopmental disorders, with a primary focus on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Amber has a passion for forensic assessments, particularly in cases related to parenting evaluations and child custody disputes arising from parental separation. She worked within a primary care setting, serving marginalized families through integrated care. She is proficient in a range of psychological assessments to aid in differential diagnosis and employs various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, she tends to incorporate aspects of relational psychodynamic theory to increase awareness of values and unconsciousness. She approaches each case with a trauma-informed perspective and maintains cultural sensitivity in practice.

Amber is actively involved in community-based initiatives promoting the well-being of children. During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Amber volunteered her services with the Department of Health, ensuring that children and adolescents received care.
