Christa Peterson, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist in Washington State. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Puget Sound and her M.A. and doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University. Christa has more than 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in healthcare settings at both Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. She focuses on helping children, teens, and young adults adjust to and cope with challenges, including acute and chronic medical illness, physical disability, grief, loss, relational struggles, and developmental transitions. Christa also provides training to parents and caregivers so that they can more effectively manage behaviors and have more fulfilling relationships with their children. Christa utilizes evidenced-based cognitive behavior therapies and operates from a strengths-based, solution-oriented, and family-centered approach.

In addition to her work with children and families, Christa has experience providing therapy to adults in individual and group settings. She completed her doctorate and post doctorate training at Meier Clinics, where she worked for three years and served as one of the therapists in the Catalyst Program, an intensive outpatient treatment program for adults dealing with anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, and other mental health conditions.
