Julie Franke, LICSW, LMHCA is a licensed independent clinical social worker as well as a licensed mental health counselor associate. She earned her Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Arts in Applied Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of Washington. She completed a yearlong clinical practicum at Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle where she received extensive training in the treatment of child and adolescent anxiety, obsessive compulsive, and related disorders.
Julie has clinical expertise in working with children, adolescents, and adults in diverse settings including intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, community mental health, residential treatment, as well as a university counseling center. In addition to her practice at Eastside Psychological Associates, Julie holds a position at the University of Washington Medical Center where she has over 30 years of experience providing a multitude of clinical services to patients and families.
Julie’s practice focuses on treating children and adolescents with a range of anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders. She primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with an emphasis on exposure and response prevention (ERP), while integrating other empirically supported techniques and treatment modalities when appropriate.
Julie takes a strength-based approach to therapy and strives to create a nonjudgmental, collaborative, and warm space where clients can learn new skills and strategies to overcome challenges.
