Kathryn (Kate) Cunningham, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with adolescents and young adults, providing individualized, strengths-based care. Dr. Cunningham utilizes a warm, integrative, client-centered approach that allows therapy to be tailored to the client’s specific needs. She helps people understand how their past experiences impact them in the present and assists clients in learning new skills to navigate emotions and relationships effectively. Dr. Cunningham believes a strong, trusting therapy relationship is essential for growth and healing to occur. Her collaborative and authentic approach encourages clients to step fully into the therapy process and build the life they desire.
Dr. Cunningham earned her bachelors in psychology with a minor in diversity studies at the University of Washington and received her doctorate in clinical psychology at Loyola University Maryland. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Travis County Juvenile Probation Department and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Childhood Study and Treatment Center, providing both forensic and clinical services. Dr. Cunningham has experience working with adolescents, families, and young adults in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, forensic settings, residential treatment facilities, and community-based clinics. She also has extensive experience working with marginalized and underserved populations at individual, family, and community levels.
