Sara Tapsak, Psy.D.

Dr. Sara Tapsak is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the diagnostic evaluation of children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 3-24) presenting with general psychiatric concerns and neurodevelopmental conditions, including:

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Learning disabilities/difficulties
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders/social difficulties
  • Cognitive deficits
  • Emotional and behavioral concerns

Dr. Tapsak also has specialized training in providing treatment to individuals impacted by acute and/or chronic medical conditions. She works with individuals and families to promote adaptive functioning and resilience through interventions that build on individuals’ strengths to reach achievable goals.

Dr. Tapsak received her doctoral degree from Pacific University in Oregon. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship on the Psychiatry Consultation Service at Boston Children’s Hospital/ Harvard Medical School. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in pediatric behavioral medicine at Holtz Children’s Hospital/ The University of Miami School of Medicine.

Areas of focus include:

  • Psychological and neuropsychological evaluation/testing
  • Adjustment/coping with acute and/or chronic medical illness, with specialization in pediatric solid organ transplant populations
  • Somatic symptoms and related conditions (e.g., conversion presentations, such as non-epileptic seizures; illness-related anxiety)
  • Adherence to medical regimens
